Lye - A solid white stuff that’s very alkaline and used in small amount to adjust the pH of the product. I do recommend other products by this brand, but would not recommend this specific product to anyone with unmanageable hair. Some cosmetics companies have taken People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals and Leaping Bunny animal-testing pledges.
