About this deal

Rarely does this happen for me but without hesitation I'd say that I did find this excellent book completely gripping. It’s been phenomenal to see how both civilians and celebrities have thrown themselves into the show over the years. After 10 years with the Royal Marines Jason passed the notoriously tough Special Forces selection process and joined the SBS (the maritime sister service of the SAS).

Furthermore, Jason is a trained combat swimmer, demolitions expert, Special Forces dog handler and an expert in jungle survival. As a motivational speaker, Jason motivates teams by highlighting topics such as leadership, teamwork, emotional resilience and working under pressure. SAS Star Jason Fox Would Have 'Probably' Killed Himself If He Hadn't Received Help With Mental Health". This is the fifth or so self help book that I have read over recent years so I like to think I have a good feel for what makes a good one. In 2019, Fox alongside Sean Johnson kayaked the length of the Yukon river [15] over 1,980 miles in Alaska.Without the slightest trace of self pity (and surely anyone in his position could be allowed this in spades) his description of his gradual awakening to the extent of his struggle was, for me, quite heartbreaking at times. Time issues and deadlines, information required that you don’t have – you can see people go into a flat spin. It is a very interesting read wich gives interesting insights into the stresses and horrors of war and mostly covers Jason foxes battles with ptsd and depression. The first step towards really resolving whatever issues have taken a person to breaking point – such as underlying feelings of rejection, failure, grief, anger, fear or resentment – or have caused them to miss their targets, is to self-assess during a period of brutal truth. If you show your team respect and listen to them then they’ll have respect for you, and it makes your life as a leader easier – you don’t have to scream and shout.

A brutally honest account of war and all that follows from the perspective of a Special Forces soldier. It’s nothing like as tough as I was used to in the Special Forces, but we are still working 24-hour days in extreme environments, pulling together, challenging ourselves. And I was always like – this is an experience I’ve had – “There shouldn’t be high fives because that was awful, you were annoying and that was wrong, and we messed up there, and wasted a lot of money…” But no-ones interested in that. Outside of his military career, some of Fox's bigger adventures include rowing across the Atlantic Ocean from Lagos, Portugal to Macuro, Venezuela in 2016 with four of his friends including Oliver Bailey.Products shown, tagged or featured on YouTube by creators are sold by merchants and are subject to merchant's terms and conditions.
